Avnet Adds SiTime’s MEMS Timing Solutions to Line Cards in Americas and Asia
PHOENIX and SUNNYVALE, CALIF.—August 8, 2016—Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced a distribution agreement with SiTime Corporation, a MEMS and analog semiconductor company and wholly owned subsidiary of MegaChips Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6875). Effective immediately, Avnet will offer SiTime’s MEMS oscillators in the Americas and Asia, excluding Japan.
SiTime offers MEMS-based silicon timing solutions that can replace legacy quartz products, providing greater performance, programmability, simplified board layout and reduced cost. SiTime’s product line includes 60 base product families and over 200,000 individual parts. In 2016, SiTime’s SiT8021 µPower MEMS oscillator was an Electronic Products magazine Product of the Year award winner.
